Baughman Jr., MD: "No link between vaccine, autism".  Reuters 11/7/02:  Autism said to show up just before 2nd birthday, just when they get MMR vaccine.  Looked at all children born in Denmark, 91-98 and conclude it is coincidence that autism diagnosis, symptoms occur at about time of vaccination.  Found 316 with autism and 422 with similar conditions out of 537,303.  Such diagnoses less common among those vaccinated than those not vaccinated.  Difference between the vacc and the not-vacc groups was not stat significant.  The rise of autism and autism-like diagnoses in California and Denmark is an artifact of the DSM and psychiatric labeling, also due to efforts of disease advocacy organizations. ]
