Dear Doctor Breggin & Doctor Baughman First let me start off in telling you, I really appreciate your web sites. I have been reading them for about 4 months now,( but) theirs always a but. After reading them I got my self in to a lot of trouble. My ex-wife has had my son diagnose with ADHD [Fred A. Baughman Jr., MD: not a real disease] , and has put him on 18mg of Concerta [Fred A. Baughman Jr., MD: Addictive, dangerous, sometimes cause death--never, with an honest risk vs. benefit analysis, justified] . He had been taken the medication since the beginning of school and hes grades have dropped from a B average to D average [Fred A. Baughman Jr., MD: never a disease. Stephanie Hall of Canton, OH had dose of Ritalin increased due to drop in grades and died in her sleep that night, just prior to 12th birthday] , he has a tic (eye blinking ) and he has massive headaches [Fred A. Baughman Jr., MD: tic, if not present prior to medication, clearly due to medication. Headaches a common side effect of medication] that last for up to 3hours. Im getting off track, so back to the point. After reading your web-sites I told my son to quit taking the medication, which has me in trouble with the courts. I am in the middle of a custody battle and because I told my son to quit taking the medication. Im in violation of her parental rights. I was forced to tell him to start taking the mediation again or I may loose visitation rights and the custody battle [Fred A. Baughman Jr., MD: such is the loss/diminution of parent rights for parents-of-divorce in every instance in which they bad mouth ADHD--a fraudulent, never-validated disease] . I turned to your web sites for help and their was no ware to go. I checked every link, I checked every e-mail responses in hopes of seeing the word Ohio. I called both of your phone numbers and left a messages, even though you asked me to go to the web sites. (Sorry). I know you probably get thousands of calls and e-mails every day and your only one person, and you can not be every ware at once, but if their was a listings for the different States how have Doctors how share your views [Fred A. Baughman Jr., MD: I am sorry, most physicians who see kids these days are big time into making patients of normal children with the phoney, fraudulent APA-DSM, FDA-sanctioned psychiatric diseases. If you have an attorney, I would be glad to discuss strategy possibilities--sorry there is no sure way to win such cases.] and how to contact them it would really help. I live in Ohio and have to get a doctor that not only shares your views but can evaluate him and testify in court for me. I have a finale hearing June 30th and if I cant find a doctor befor then Ill probably loose my custody battle and my son will be forced to take the medication until hes 18. By the way I showed the courts the information I got off your web sites and thats not good enough, they want an expert witness. [Fred A. Baughman Jr., MD: Check with state legislators to see if Ohio has passed, is considering legislation against court-ordered psychiatric dx. and rx.]
Sorry about the long letter but I did shorten it up by a page. A father in need of a good doctor! K*** **** |
